

This
stop was just to look, not to collect. The Ray Mine is a working mine. No
collecting is allowed, but there is a visitor center, which is mainly a scenic
overlook, off Highway 177 near Kearney. The top picture is a view from that
overlook. The mine is really huge. So is the equipment used in it. The bottom
picture is of my grandson Patrick in front of a tire from one of the ore
trucks.
My
son-in-law, Don, my grandson Patrick and I stopped here on the way to the Finch
Mine on May 29, 2002.
